Travel by your side visits Hong Kong, Glittering World City

Hong Kong is an international financial center and it is famous for its towering skyscrapers that creates a very picturesque skyline. As a skyscraper enthusiast, it will be very exciting experience for me because i'll be able to personally see some of world's famous skyscrapers found in Hong Kong namely Bank of China tower, 2 International Finance Centre and Nina tower.

February is love month so me and my gf decided to celebrate our valentines day in Hong Kong to make it more special. We are very excited not only because we are going there but also because we'll be able to meet some of our friends and relatives that are working in Hong Kong.

From Changi airport, it took us almost 4 hours to reach Hong Kong airport. Hong Kong airport is huge and very busy. It is said that it is one of the ten most busiest airports in the world.

Once you get out of the immigration, you would see some stations for mrt card and money changer. For mrt card, you will need to deposit certain amount. In case you did not use all the amount in your card, you can still refund. For the money changer in the airport, it is advisable to use money changer of your hotel because the rate is much better.

During that time, the weather is sunny but the temperature is a bit cold ranging from 10 - 12 degrees Celsius. Before the day of our arrival, the weather is stormy. We are just so blessed because during our entire stay in Hong Kong, the weather is really good.

We booked 3D2N in Ramblers Hotel. The package includes shuttle transfer from airport to hotel, return transfer to airport and free breakfast.

It was still a bit early when we arrived in our hotel so we decided to go out and tour around. We used MTR (Mass Transit System) as means of our transportation in Hong Kong. MTR is the rail system of Hong Kong. Like Singapore's ez lnk card, Hong Kong uses octopus card for topping in MTR.

Our first stop is Tien Tan Buddha. It is a big 34 meters Buddha statue located in Lantau. The closest MTR station is Tung Chung station then you will need to ride a bus going to the Buddha statue. An important item we learned here is that the bus going to the Buddha station starts from 10:00 AM until 17:45. It is not advisable to go there during late afternoon as the last bus returning to Tung Chung station is 17:45. We are so blessed that time that the lady who is with us traveling to Buddha statue returned to us and informed us that the last bus returning to Tung Chung station has arrived.

On the next day, we visited the Avenue of Stars. It is like Hollywood Walk of Fame located in the Victoria Harbour waterfront which is accessible by mtr's Tsim Sha Tsui station. It features statues and stars of great contributors of Hong Kong film industry.

One of the famous statue here is the statue of legendary film martial artist Bruce Lee. Also the star of Jackie Chan with his hand prints on it is also a must see item here in the Avenue of Stars.

Other good reason to go here is to see the majestic skyline of Central Hong Kong. During day time, the blue Victoria harbor with a background of Central's skyline is a sight to behold. At night, the incredible dancing, blinking lights of skyscrapers in Central Hong Kong will truly give you an impression that this city is global economic powerhouse.

We also went to Victoria Peak. It is a must see place here in Hong Kong because it will give you a good view of Central, Kowloon and Victoria Harbour skyline. It was a bit foggy when we went there so we were not able to see clearly the entire skyline.

To complete our Hong Kong escapade, we toured around Tsim Sha Tsui, one of Hong Kong's shopping district and ate Hong Kong's delicious noodles at Temple Street Night Market.

In Tsim Sha Tsui, high-end brand stores, malls and boutiques like LV, Prada, Gucci, Mont Blanc and other luxury brands are just everywhere. There is so much energy going on in this area. Tourist and locals are everywhere enjoying the vast shopping experience. It is where you could find Hong Kong's largest mall, Harbour City, it's tallest retail complex, The One and our favorite, 1881 Heritage. 1881 Heritage is special because its a combination of history and luxury shopping. It's beautiful architectural details is a sight to behold.

It is also a must try to eat Temple Street Night Market's noodles. It is literally the best noodles I've ever tasted. I'm still even craving for those noodles. We tried other fine dining restaurant's noodles in HK but its nowhere close to the delicious taste of temple street's noodles.

Indeed our Hong Kong travel experience is amazing. From its towering skyscrapers, glittering skyline, vast shopping experience, great infrastructure and beautiful attractions, Hong Kong is truly a world city that is worth revisiting again.
