This year's summer, we chose Phuket, Thailand as our travel destination for our vacation. Clear blue sky, blue sea and beautiful beaches are the first things that comes out to our mind when we think of Phuket ... but what we experienced is more than that.
Elephant riding is one of the most exciting activity we have done in Phuket. Riding at the back of this gentle giant as he walk down to the mountain trail is a nerve-racking experience. He almost forgot that we are on his back when he started to scratch his body against the tree. Its a one of a kind experience that we enjoyed so much but we might not be doing it again.
Buddhist temples or wats are one of the symbols of Thailand. If you want to see newly built temple and century old temples in one complex, visit Wat Chalong. Just always remember that this is sacred place for Thai's so be mindful of do's and don't;s like it's inappropriate to wear clothes that reveal shoulder, legs, chest and belly.
Another great thing about Thailand is their food. We tried some of their famous cuisine like Pad Thai, its a noodle dressed up with bean sprouts, peanuts, beans and fish sauce. Gai Med Ma Moung is also another must try Thai Cuisine. It is a roasted cashew nuts with sweet soy sauce, honey, galic and chicken.
Finally, the reason why we came here in Phuket and that is to experience personally the picturesque beach of Phuket. Above picture is taken from Karon beach, it is one of the secluded white beach of Phuket so if you are looking for a total relaxation and scenic views, this beach is for you.
Patong beach is the most popular beach resort in Phuket. The beach is not as wide, water is not as clear compared to Karon but Patong offers more vibrant night life. It is ideal to party and play.
There are many other beaches in Phuket island. Karon and Patong are just two that could give you a contrasting experience.
Trully, it is a well spent vacation. Continue to join us as we explore the beauty of the world.
