Travel by your side visits Penang, Malaysia

We visited another World Heritage Site and this time it's in Malaysia. This heritage site is located in the island of Penang.

Historic city of George Town is the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.

It is amazing to see how they were able to preserve their historic structures. You will see a lot of architectural styles like neoclassical, art Deco style, Malay Palladian style and Anglo-Indian style. Well preserved churches, mosques and Chinese and Indian temples are also plenty. These structures are everywhere in the city.

Above picture is clan jetties, a water village in Penang. In the picture, you can't see any bodies of water but below the wooden houses and walkway is actually sea coastal.

Khoo Kongsi is the grandest clan temple in Penang. It's architecture is so impressive and grand.

Above is the Town hall building. It has Victorian architecture. Most government buildings in Penang have neo-Palladian architecture like its City Hall.

One of unique way to roam around the city is by trishaw. It is decorated with flowers. Isn't it quite romantic? The driver of trishaw is like your tour guide. While your touring around, he will name the buildings and describe why that place is important.

We learned a lot from our vacation in Penang. We are very impressed on how they are able to preserve their structures in a large scale.

Seeing and experiencing the culture of places we traveled is one of the reasons why we love doing it. In Penang, there's no doubt we achieve it.
